Just started a plumbing class and have to practice at home by soldering 15mm pipes and joints. For the life of me I can't remember if the teacher held the torch in his left or right hand, and if he held the burner or the bottle. I have a Rothenberger Surefire 2 and it feels like either point could be used. I know, sorry, all very noobie questions Help

A DIYer would use his dominant hand; a professional would use either, as suits the job.

(I said 'professional'; that rules out cowboys! Laughing )

Wink

Stoday, that makes me a Pro Shocked Nicest thing you ever said Laughing Thumbright

ZimZim - like Stoday says, use which ever hand is most appropriate. I would also tend to hold the bottle to balance the weight so you can play the flame around easily with little effort.
I am sure it will become obvious what to do when you start doing a few joints Thumbright

What's that white board called that the_scruff was using in his video to protect the wall? He said you can find it in any skip, but I can't even find a skip!

Ceramic fibre board. Get it from a craft shop.

Go round a few building sites, they should have loads of the stuff laying around.

Commonly used for soffits, garage ceiling, or anything that has a fire rating.

Any builders merchants will sell it in big sheets
