Due to have a new wood burning stove with stone surround, fitted this week (www.jcorradi.it). This will be our main heating source 14kw. It will be situated quite close to a interior supporting brick wall, distance to be determind 30-50cm. I have just removed the old plaster which had deteriated badly & which I will replace. We are considering a decorative stone covering (www.modulo.fr) but not sure if this will be heat resistant enough. Their interior coverings are made of plaster while the exterior type are made of cement. Any suggestions on what to prime the exposed brick with & what to cover the wall with? Will the decorative stone/cement covering be suitable if 40cm from the wall? Still awaiting an answer from Modulo? The house is in the french alps & is about 200 yrs old.
