The mains supply to my house is 15mm (that's what comes up throught the floor)
It's then 15mm to the Combi boiler, 15mm out of the boiler to the taps (the CH is 22mm)
I've just lifted the boards in the bathroom and found for the last few feet, the hot water pipe goes up to 22mm with 15mm tees for the taps etc
Is there a reason for this or was a previous plumber just taking a shortcut and not replacing some old 22mm pipe.
To me there isn't an advantage to having 22mm pipe if there is 15mm in the previous supply as the 15mm will cause the bottleneck.
But that's why I'm asking. I'm perfectly happy to increase the pipe work to 22mm if there is a benefit.
The order of the pipes will be...
Supply to bathroom.
Tee for the bath taps and shower (this supply will go to the shower and the bath taps will tee of this)
Bit more pipe and then tees for the basin
And fianally going to the WC
I'll get a diagram done
Any thoughts???
Cheers

Scruff's right, keep it to 15mm.
If you increase the hot water to 22mm, you'll double the water in the dead leg. That means you'll have to run off twice as much as you do now before the water runs hot.

Thanks guys
If it was 22mm the rest of the way I would keep it that way to the shower and tee of with 15mm for the taps.
But with the 15mm restriction already in place, what's the point.
Cheers
