Hi,
Should I PVA a wall before applying bonding and likewise, do I need to then apply PVA to the bonding once dry before skimming over it?
All help welcome

| Yes you need to pva the wall before and once dry. make sure the PVA is mixed 2 to 1. |

You can skim perfectly well without PVA if you do it while the bonding is still wet (but has set) - it takes a good while to dry out completely anyway - that way you shouldn't need to apply PVA before skimming. _________________ I always blame my tools |

thanks very much.
so pva is basically way of keeping the wall from drying out too quickly on dry walls that absorb the moisture quickly, am i correct?
so taking that into account, is it right to pva over old plaster walls that are just to be re-skimmed? and does plasterboard on a celing also need pva?
thanks for all help |

| Exactly right mate. The term we generally use is "killing suction". PVA is a plasterers best friend! Apart from his labourer of course. And his trowel. And maybe a Bacon & Egg. |
