Please can someone help. I have painted new wallpaper with a good quality (Dulux) white paint. When it dried i noticed the paint seemed to have gone on unevenly. I thought a second coat would help but it has made it worse. The same thing happened on a different wall before but i thought it was because i had used a roller so this time i used a brush. It looks awful can someone please help me and tell me what i have done wrong? This doesn't seem to happen when i use a couloured paint only white.
Thank you

It could just be about technique Kath..are the uneven area where you cut in?...that happens sometimes..especially with textured papers that have vertical lines.

Try rolling another coat on but dont cut it in..in order to get an even build up.

Sorry i am new on this forum so i do not understand what cut in means. The paper is a blown vinyl which has lots of tiny vertical lines. I have read on this forum that you should not use vinyl silk for walls because of uneven coverage. Guess what paint i used - got in one vinyl silk. Could this be the problem?

Its not 'the' problem Kath just a part of it..the main problem sounds like the way its bene put on..silk just highlights any dodgy areas..

Cutting in is where you go around the ceiling line and skirting with a brush before you use the roller.
