Just been looking back through some of the posts and most people seem to be in agreement that you shouldn't put silk on walls. Am i right in thinking this is right and if so why. The Dulux paint i have just bought says for walls and ceiling. Is this why i am having terrible patchy paint on wallpaper/ (see earlier post).
thanks |

Out of all the finishes silk is the hardest to get a decent even coat, it can be used on ceilings and walls, but is not the most user friendly paint in the world _________________ "Where would we be without rules?

| Is that why the paint looks so uneven? Which would you recommend to use? In the colour my daughter has choosen it is only silk or matt. Would matt give a better finish. I am so desperate now i think the wall looks awful. Just one more question (well 2 actually)can i paint a different finish onto silk and would that cover the uneveness? Thanks for replying. |

Matt is a lot more forgiving and will give a better finish than the silk, the only problem now is that Matt is not recommended to go directly onto silk - what I would recommend is that you go to B&Q and get the same colour mixed in store as a soft sheen, this can be painted directly onto the silk and will give you a better finish than the silk. Just be prepared to give it two coats. _________________ "Where would we be without rules?

| soft sheen or mid sheen would be the paint for you my friend. Unless you have perfect walls which is virtually impossible then you should give silk a body swerve |
