I have possibly asked this before not sure so here goes, I have a new build downstairs extension and my question is should i put plasterboard up even though the walls are good or should i just get the plasterer to skim straight onto the new walls, all walls well insulated. All opinions welcome but could you give a reason for your answer |

you cant skim straight onto brick! fullstop.
assuming the walls r cavity? u could dot and dab p-board or have a floated bonding coat(or 2) id just do one 10mm and them 2 coat skim
u could board it yaself probably then get just a skimmer in, be alot cheaper that way |

thanks for that, I had dot/dab in another part of my new build and got in a plasterer to skim, but someone on here asked me the question about why i was bothering to put plasterboard on brand new walls when i should just plaster it and save money. thanks anyway just wanted an opinion of some an expert |
