I intend to build a low wall using medium density breeze block and would like to "clad" it with 450 x450 mm decorative paving slabs, What would be the best bonding medium,Could I use ordinary morter mix with some sort of support untill it goes off or is there some product on the market which will form good adhesion.
Any advise much apprieciated.......cheers |

Whoever supplies you with the "cladding" should, I hope, advise you on the best method/product to use! But I'm not sure if I would risk fixing flagstones vertically! _________________ By eck! |

Don't try to glue stone slabs to walls. They will fall off.
Go to your library and look up BS8298 : 1994. That tells you everything you need to know about how to clad walls properly.
In short, you drill holes between the two faces and tie the cladding to the wall with ties like wall ties.
If you use smaller blocks like square glass blocks, you could get away by embedding the ties in the mortar between the blocks. |

| Thanks for reply,if it means I have to tie the slabs then breeze is definately out but your mention of wall ties has given me an idea of how I could make it work out |
