i have wonderd that point for ages
hang a tape on !!! no you just put it down on the top
my only thought are maybe if its at the back you can loop suffficiant loose cable then wrap around it to stop the cable pulling on the arm
in other words you tether the power cable to that point with sufficiant slack to allow a full range of movement off the saw without the cable dragging the arm off line _________________ we are all ------------------still learning |

It's a locator for the mounted fittings to lock into.
Stops the saw being slid along the stand. _________________ Jaeger.

As has been mentioned it is for you to place the saw base into to prevent it sliding left or right.
Is that the £200 DeWalt saw stand? I don't mind paying for all my gear being DeWalt and in fact I insist upon it but I draw the line at £200 for a stand when B&Q did an excellent, fold away stand ( same dimensions as the DeWalt ) with quick release, two-part table for £30 last summer. |
