My neighbour has some lights in his conservatory which have stopped working. The switch is an outside switch , the type that the whole front is on some sort of rocker to operate it. He wishes to inspect this switch but cannot get it apart, there are no screws on the front and he is afraid to use to much force to prise the front away from the back. Is there any special way in which the front will come off or is it just brute force. We have checked all the wiring back to the fusebox and all appaers to be in order but we wish to check this switch before proceeding any further. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello Rich-Ando,

Thanks for the reply. I'll see him tomorrow and tell him the good news.
