Which power dimmer switch should I get to control a mains spot light strip that contains 4 x 50w GU10 halogen bulbs? I see most dimmer switches are rated at either 250w or 400w and was wondering if the 250w is sufficient or if there is an advantage (or disadvantage) in getting a 400w version?

Thanks in advance,
Ash.

The 250w dimmer should be more than adequate, but if there is little price difference between the two then I would get the 400w one.

You can get dimmers that are rated at 1000w as well- http://www.qvsdirect.com/1G-2-Way-1000W-Dimmer-pr-18623.html
