Would like to know if any one has used the

vodaphone usb modem stick on a laptop

to connect to the internet.

If so is it any good.

set one up on a ASUS Linux box for my brother - dead easy to do and seemed pretty good.
He hasn't called me to complain, so I guess it is still working ok Thumbright

Chez posted me his network 3 m usb modem stick, and its brill, have downloaded hundreds of movies no problem Thumbright

Re these sticks, I think the actual modems are all pretty much the same, so IMO the key thing is to decide:

1) where you are planning to use it and check reception of the various network providers (nowadays, that isn't a massive issue, but worth a double-check)

2) how much data you are looking to transfer a month. The various providers structure their tarrifs quite differently and the charges for going over the limits can be horrendous Shocked

I was looking at the providers data options recently and I concluded that T-Mobile seemed to be the best cost deal, but this was with data packages on Phones (their "web 'n' walk" deals) - the Dedicated USB Model deals may be different?

Also Three seemed to have some amazing deals on offer, but that was only using data via the phone, not a PC connected to it.
