Filling question. I have connected both hot and cold supply pipes fo my Indesit washing machine together using a Y adapter from B&Q as sugegsted in an answer to my previous question and connected it to the cold supply. The machine switches on and allows about 5 seconds worth of water in before stopping the flow and emptying. I am assured that the washer was working when I got it second hand. So, could it be a supply pressure problem with the cold pressure being to much for the hot intake (hope this makes sense) and requires a restrictor of some sort or is it just possibly a duff machine? Hope someone can make sense of this question and suggest an answer. Many thanks.

if you are on the right lines about the hot intake, you could try a doing a cold fill (think all w/machines have that feature and see what happens then scratch
