As skiking has explained with finishing the verge you can either finish with render (probably best) or finish with a barge board. A barge board would simply be a 6-8" piece of facia fixed to the brick work directley under the undercloak.

When fitting the undercloak bed this on with cement then use a straight edge ie 4x2" to tap down the undercloak.

Have a look at pic to see what I mean. This last rafter helps support the facia.

Have done rafters as per your photo, now have put tiles on,see photos.
am away for another week on boat.
So will carry on when I get back ( weather permitting)

Yes roof all my own work thanks to your sound advice. Now just need to finish flashing and mortar between tiles and undercloak. am putting concrete floor in any tips would be a help.
