I have a few questions about some plumbing work I need to do, thanks for any advice you can offer me.
We have no mains water, just pumped water from our well.
At present my house only has a bathroom down stairs, so we are building a new bathroom upstairs,
I want to get some of the pipework installed and the stud walls built, shower, sink, bath in place etc, then get a plumber in to to connect my pipework and supply and fit new tanks, along with a new wood burning boiler stove system radiators etc. after i have done my bit.
We have no room in the loft due to the roof construction, so the cold water tank and hot water tanks will be in a cupboard in a bedroom, this will mean the cold tank will be more or less at the same level as the shower we want to install. even if we raise it upto the ceiling.
So we need to use a pump to feed this new shower and the old one directly below. does this need to be on a seperate feed from the tanks? from tank to pump then onto both showers? If so what size pipe should i be using 15mm or 22mm? How do I work out what type/size pump is required?
Will I then run a seperate feed to supply the bathroom sink, bath and then drop down to feed the downstairs toilet, utility kitchen etc, If so again should this be in 15mm or 22mm?
I was thinking about using polyplum plastic pipe for ease of use, any views on this
also, we want to have a woodburner/boiler and radiators installed, I have got a couple of quotes to supply and install full system, from stove companies. but when searching the web, I have come across companies supplying the same stoves for a good few hundred pounds less, (supply only) also i have found radiators etc, to be a lot cheaper when ordered via the web, compared with the quotes i got. Obviously i cant ask the stove company to install stuff i bought and supplied myself, but will a normal plumber be happy to install a system from stuff i supply? do they need to be hetas registered to install, or is that just for the flue?
any views?
thanks
