I recently had a go at plastering a wall (first attempt ever!) and it went reasonably well after doing some research on this website, i managed to get a smooth and flat finish!

I used wickes one coat plaster, hoping to get the job done in one go, however now that the plaster has dried I have noticed that it is almost like dust/powder when I rub my hand on it??

Can someone please explain what has gone wrong???

thanks

Could be the product you used but it could also be the surface that you plastered on has sucked all the moisture from the plaster. Did you PVA the walls first ?

I didn't apply any bonding cos I thought the surface underneath wasn't too bad - does this mean I have to take the plaster off and start again or can I apply the bonding over the dusty stuff re-skim?
