I recently had a retaining wall built in my garden made of breeze blocks. Its not very big so was wondering how easy it might be to plaster it myself.

Please can someoen advise in reasonably graphical detail the steps that I should take.

Hi BoschIT,

Welcome to the forum.

I'm in a rush and don't have time to describe how to do it, but check here-
http://www.goldtrowel.org/rendering.asp

on that page there are two small video clips that show you how to render.

Use plastering sand at a ratio of 5 sand to 1 cement by volume and add some plasticiser.

Hope this helps Wink

I have a real problem with people coming on here and posting links to sites that sell paid help!

I posted links to a site that had two free demos on the page.

I do not like it when people come on here and try and sell advice on how to do things, this is not what this site is about. The information on this site is 100% free and is there to help people.

Selling someone a £20 DVD is not very helpful is it!

Why don't you watch the dvd and then come here and explain to BoschIT how to do it Wink

Another thing-

It says in your profile that you are a plasterer!

Why would a plasterer need a dvd on how to render Confused:

Perhaps you are big bud :!:

hi it

these are the steps needed: no offence intended

1: gain plastering exp for about a year
2: progress to practice on other peoples outside walls before you wreck yours
3: after 5 - 7 years you may be ready

moral of the story is dont be a tight arse and get a plasterer in.

we dont do 5 years training for nothing trust me if you want a good job you do have to pay for it..

sorry
