I have been asked to dot and dab boards in a bathroom for a customer who is going to tile the lot.

Is there a preferred type of board?

Is normal board OK or will it suffer due to excess moisture?
Confused:
Cheers Steve.

Tile backer board is preferred, such as knauf aquapanel etc.

You can get lots of problems if you use normal plasterboard!

The forum clock is nearly always wrong lol

I'm not 100% certain that you can dot and dab aquapanel.

You tile the smooth side though!

Anyone with any info re dot and dab aqua panel would be great to hear. Can't personally think of anyother way of fixing aquapanel boards to bare brick / block work in a bathroom. ??

I'm in the process of building a shower cubicle, and one side will be brick!!..........I am planning on fixing 2"x1" timber to the brick work, and then screw the aquapanel to the 2"x1" !!..Is this an option in your project??

Thanks for your comments, i suppose it is but i think depth difference would be a problem, it is pretty much the whole room that needs doing and would include fitting close to a door, depth would then be a problem.

I'll have a look though.

Steve

Why use aquapanel in all of the bathroom?......when it's only really needed in the shower?
