I picked up my new PC that my nipper put together for me, it's working well, and I've even gone back to using Firefox as a browser cos the PC can now cope with it's demands.

One problem I've got is that pics are not showing up on UHM - I can see pics on other forums and it's a bit strange but I can see a few on UHM; but only about 1 in 20, maybe less, I've not been taking notes. :-)

All of the pics that I've been able to see on UHM up to yesterday had been sent via Tapatalk, (right click mouse select *inspect element*) but today I can see the pic in this thread - spanning-the-gap-over-a-removed-chimney-breast-t87324.html - and it doesn't appear to have come via Tapatalk.

Ideally I'd like to be able to see any pics posted - I'm not too interested in whys and wherefores, just the HOW!

:thumbleft:

I'd say does it do the same with Internet Explorer (despite your dislike).

Narrow it down to browser or something else.

If it's not, have you got some other software on for blocking stuff (knowing you.....yes!). Disable it, does it work?

I've just tried it on Pale Moon browser which is what I was using before the new PC. and it's OK, can see pics that I can't see with Firefox. It (PaleMoon) has an adblocker and NoScript running.

I've currently only got AdblockPlus running on Firefox, and have used that for many years beforehand without any problems.

I've already tried adding Flash Player - could be a Java Script issue, as I can't currently find mine (used to be easy).

I'll look into that. :thumbright:

Reading up on "Refresh Firefox" it says it removes all extensions and themes. Not sure I'm ready for that just yet.

Windows 7 ... I had that a few years back  I'll have to try to remember how to use it. In the mean time have you got the windholes updates switched on to automatic ??

Unlikely: it's probably set to tell me when updates are available and I'll take it from there.

.....but I think I may have sorted it, I've disabled AdblockPlus and re-enabled uBlock, I've only checked on one topic that wasn't showing pics on Firefox this morning and it is now and also the avatars have come back.

Edit: installing Java didn't help, but I'll leave it there anyway.

do you see a placeholder where the pictures are meant to show?

I don't think there was, istr it was just a blank space.

It's sorted now though, I changed from AdBlock plus to uBlock and it fixed the problem.

I don't know why it caused a problem: I'd previously used AdBlock plus for years with Firefox and only started to use uBlock when I switched to using the Pale Moon browser.
