Has anyone ever heard of these?
In 2000 I bought a perles power drill 1050 watts, standard chuck. It cost me about £140 and the guy in the shop said they were really good and are made in Switzerland.
I broke it the same day and took it back and got it fixed, it's useless at hammer drilling and so I only use it as a mixer now or for core drilling, you can see a bit of it here-
Has anyone ever heard of Perles?
I have never heard of them since and the tool shop as now closed down. I got a nice dewalt 9 inch grinder and diamond tipped dewalt disk from there for £99.00, that is still going strong _________________ DIY | DIY Video |

Perles used to make some of the Elu tools at one time - small corded circular saws, corded drills, etc.

Perles is a good make. A pal has that drill that is used for core box drilling and it has done good service. The DW625EK router has its routes in the Elu made by Perles .

I wonder if they are anything to do with sparky tools, as they look the same colour? _________________ DIY | DIY Video |

Sparky are a different (German) firm who make their own stuff and also make machines for some of the big names, too. They certainly mstilol make some of the older ex-AEG designs of drills, jig saws. Some of their designs are all their own, though:
The other German tool company like that is Kress, who make some of Wickes drills, etc (the grey ones) and even do pneumatic hammer drills for Porter-Cable in the USA

i realise this is an old thread but i have 2 perles drills. a 110 volt and a 240 volt. both standard hammer drill types. there both 10 or 11 years old now but very rarely get used. only if my elu sds drill is either being serviced or on another site. even then i only use the 240 as i cant remember now if the 110 volt works still or not.
the chuck on the 240 volt broke up. it rattles. but it is only an emergency tool so ill forgive it that.
there still available on ebay mind so perhaps i had 2 bad ones |

There is a modification installed on the forum that prevents live links fom being posted until you have more then 20 posts. It is designed to stop spammers from posting links to porn sites etc _________________ DIY | DIY Video |
