alright there chaps, been asked to repair a friends wall as it has been left by the previous tennants with a few holes where the tv has been mounted on the brackets, and dont know how but theres a few hole off other things, i was thinking using a backing coat first and then a skim finish or just use plasterboard finished side showing, but i dont know if i should insert anything in the holes to act as a grip for the plaster to stick so it doesnt slop off.

here we go.... assumption time again...

so do we have a 'dot and dabbed' (plasterboard stuck to masonary) wall here?

just shove some bonding coat (backing coat) in then skim it, mix it reasonably thick and it wont go too far...

failing that... what kind of wall is it?

Can you connect it to a laptop with usb cable? Then you need to search for a blackberry portable hard drive. The photos should be on there.

well either way, if its masonary, i.e. not studwork...
just do as above, back it out with hardwall or bonding, pva the surrounding and patch it in with a bit of multi finish... best youll get without skimming the whole wall.. wouldnt bother trying to dab board into the gap... the only reason walls get dabbed is cos its quicker than solid plastering.. but it doesnt stop you patching up with solid plaster... :thumbleft:

Fill it all once with a siff mix of filler then when hard go again with a softer mix before sanding.
