The plastic Harris its the dogs danglies, nice light and sturdy and when it gets too skanky you can jet wash it!

I dont like those plastic ones myself..I find the paper shoots all over the place, only used one once and it felt like a cheap wobbly upvc garden table

I have just bought on from Jonstones, the wooden one with the 'w' shaped legs, so solid you can lay on it break times!

The only thing I dont like about them are the mdf tops which get damaged easily in the back of a van..

I always mark mine up with measurements down both sides..one metric one imperial and give it a couple of coats of oil based matt varnish

i forgot to say its got the measurements down both sides, i use the ruler you can get with a accs pack, it clips in and holds the paper down, the only time ive found it to be wobbly is when i havent got it stood right

Call me old fashioned, but I cant see by the good wooden tables , bought a quality one about 7 years ago from b&q , £30 quid , when it gets dirty looking my apprentice sands and cleans it down then couple of coats of mahogany dulux wood sheen, brand new again.

Wow I must be ahead of the game for once.

About 30 years ago my old paste table was so grotty I covered it in fablon and it went on for many more years. Was easy to wipe clean and looked very trendy Laughing

I should have 'patented' it (tee hee).

Seriously though, the shabby little one I have now (hubby bought it for me in B & Q) is so flimsy and wobbly I know it wont last 5 minutes. False economy buying a cheapie even for an amateur like me who only decorates once in a blue moon.

Feva, if you got a real fire, make sure the mrs doesn't carry out the hot ashes in a plastic bucket Shocked Confused

Fablon idea is good Thumbright got a hardboard one which I only used for doing lining paper but still gets messy and stains the paper.
