I want to lay some reclaimed parquet across the whole ground floor. I plan to use lecol 5500 as the adhesive.
Currently we have pine T&G floorboards under carpet. What are my best options for a subfloor for the parquet?

I've considered:

Ply over the floorboards- my problem is this raises the floor substantially once the parquet is added, meaning lots to come off doors. What thickness ply would I need over floorboards?
Ripping floorboards up and laying chipboard/ply onto joists. Again different people recommend different thicknesses here

Floorboards up 18mm chipboard over followed by 12mm ply. That's what I would do anyway.
