Hi All,
Back with another potential decorating problem. It concerns papering a skimmed wall that has being emulsioned, it was painted about 5 years ago is in good condition ie no flaking, do you need to prime it in any way or can you go straight over the top with paper, as always would welcome your comments....

you can paper over the wall no bother. You may want to line the wall depending on the budget and quality of paper.

It should pose little or no problem, but for a 'belt and braces' approach, the best place to start would be to prime or seal the existing paint, either with a plaster primer, dilute oil based undercoat, alkali resisting primer or any of the other proprietory products out there, Zinsser has a couple. Confused

By doing it this way, you are ensured of a good background to work from, and will have no trouble with eadges springing or paint blistering due to paste wetting it. Razz

As painty has pointed out, it's down to budget and time you want to spend.
