Hi all, can anyone recommend a good long lasting finish to plywood?
I have been asked to paint approx 80 sq mtrs of ply. It is an existing plywood clad wall in a school, about 50 yrs old, that has had its day. The owners are going to re-clad the wall with a similar marine ply and want it painted, knowing the people who are going re-clad the wall , I imagine there will be a lot of filling to be done. The wall gets the sun all day and will have to put up with ball/child abuse as it is a playground wall
I would like to know the best filler and paint system to use
Thanks all

I think you can forget about the filler..I really dont think the joints will stand up to it...they might, but if they dont its going to look terrible...
Paint...definitely an oil based undercoat and then a couple of coats of pliolite based masonry paint...make sure you prime the edges of the boards before they are fixed in place..and better still, prime the backs too
If you dont want to got down the pliolite route Bedec do a nice range of specialist paints...but given the time of year anything other than oil based is risky in my opinion.
