Hello to all. Smile

Just put my ad in the news paper this week. Confused
2000 Flyers and Card door to door.
stickers on Van with Logo.
Printed Letter head

Thinking of Yellow Pages and Web site?

Can any one tell me the amount of work you all do?

Is there a lot of work as a painting and decorator out there???
Ready to start work or is this a waiting game. Crying

Please need your advice. Many Thanks. Apple.

Hi Apple,

Hang fire on yellow pages and thompson or even the BT phone book as they will cost you a few quid and may not necessarily bring in the calls. Website cant hurt especially as there are lots of low cost solutions available, if you do it yourself your looking at £50 a year.

Sounds like your doing the right things, however don't lose heart, its the start of a new year and January is always the worst month as people have over spent over Christmas and have yet to get over the misery of winter.

Also where are you based?

Not sure mate as I am down south near Brighton, I am sure some of the other guys will bolster what I am saying about the time of year, and this year is a little harder after all the scaremongering about the credit crunch and house prices dropping.

Fingers crossed it will pick up for you - dont lose heart at this early stage Thumbright

Hi Apple, hang on in there, as has been said, it's a bad time of year, it's always quieter in January, also with any new start, it's getting the word out there, have you run an add in your local paper, look at a block booking of at least a month at a time, this will build trust in your name, as it will be seen week in, week out, look for sub contract work to keep you going in the mean time.

Above all, stick with it.

use the van as the main car when getting the shopping etc (locally)........cant do any harm having the stickered up van seen in town.

My whole buisness is based around the customers of a small (owner who is the worker) beauty salon ! If you do a good job in their home, they tell every woman who comes in to get their legs waxed Laughing She allowed me to leave a box of cards in the waiting area, and due to this, always fully booked for 5 years now.
