I got my stairs painted in the summer, so i could have a stair runner carpet fitted up the middle of the stairs. It looks great, but I have recently noticed that cracks are appearing in the gloss where stairs meet each other?
This has only happened since the heating went on for for the winter, so could I presume that the heat within the house has caused this and what could I do to rectify and prevent more cracking? |

The heating is drying out the timber, there is little you can to stop it, however, to minimise it, use a decorators caulk on the joints, this will cover them and not show as badly, or even stop them showing, as it is flexible to a point.
A coat of gloss once it has dryed and you should be as good as new. _________________ I'm not a roman mum, I'm a kike, a yid, a heebie, a hook-nose, I'm kosher mum, I'm a Red Sea pedestrian, and proud of it! |

Try filling the cracks with a flexible filler, and paint over it again! _________________ By eck! |
