I wasn't sure if I should put this in the decorating forum or tool forum. I am buying a fixer upper and it needs some painting. I want to paint the inside and the outside of the house. We want the walls one color and the ceiling another color. If I use a sprayer, how much over spray should I allow for? Can anybody give me any suggestions on how to do this job? Any suggestions on a sprayer?

why do you want to spray,

by the time you have masked down, it will have been quicker to have painted it with a 12" roller

I agree with Tim entirely on this, spraying paint is ok on vehicles but not really much good on homes.

Airless sprayer, paint the walls with that, then the ceilings with a pad/roller after.

Timm and uhm are right though, you could paint a room with a wide roller in virtually the same time, if you count cleaning it out after.

With a domestic type airless, you get maybe 500mmm of overspray, depends a lot on your tecnique.
Plus you will get a few stray specs outside that.
