One time on site I was given a broken P100 planer by a carpenter. I said that all it probably needed were new brushes so I accepted it with open arms.
After taking it apart, I found it probably needed a new armature as well so I went to a firm that sold parts and bought new brushes and armature. When I put the new parts I found it was just the same - I should have bought a new coil instead of the armature!
A few days later I bought a new coil and hey presto it worked fine.
I went to B&Q to buy some new blades for it and guess what? They had the same P100 Planer on sale for £29.99 - roughly what I had paid to fix the one I was given! _________________ Jasper
