Does anyone know if my elec provider (scottish power) would be obliged to upgrade my supply cable free of charge considering my consumer unit is fed by a t+e cable which in turn is fed from next doors incoming supply cable and as we have both recently extended our properties im concerned about over loading.

can i ask what size your main fuse is? and the cable supplying?
if you can prove your maxi demand is more then what you can get they would do it free.
better off getting an electrician in to do some caculations to help prove to scottish power that you need a bigger supply cable.

My fuse is 60/80 amp and the t+e supply is hard to tell but 10mm2 or maybe 16mm2 ?

Are you sure that it is a T&E?

I think all is in order (nothing untoward during my 15yrs here).T+E to fuse then meter and then cu ,meter replaced a few years ago so assume anything dodgy would have been picked up.

Photos, please. Sounds as if something's very odd indeed here. What name's on the meter? Who replaced it?
