Hi everyone, would it be ok to overboard a ceiling that's been water damaged but stinks of damp? Or would it need treating with somethin first, or just rip it down with all the mess that goes with it :-(

I would rip it down and board it from scratch mate, even more so if its damp and smells. Yeah its a messy job, taking a ceiling down always is but for peace of mind it'd be worth it in your situation tbh
