Can anyone advise me, I have just built a new porch and now the wife would like a new light outside on it. My question is can I use my light circuit inside my hallway cut into that and then run the cable outside onto the porch? do i need special cable? or am I not allowed to do it this way?
any advice is greatly appreciated |

| You will need a neutral. Most light switches do not have a neutral in them; if that is the case you'll have to find where you can connect to a neutral. |
