Good evening !

Just purchased a property that has been butchered by a doube glazing firm - victorian terrace with a sunken storm porch recessed into the front of the propery. However, a horrid upvc door has been fitted flush with the frot of the house, and the semi ornate cornices at the top of the former open porch removed - can these be reinstated ?

Also in removing this upvc door, will it leave the brick work it was formerly attached to in a state ?

Thanks

PAT

I would say it could be reinstated successfully with the right people.

A pic or two would help.

What have they done the other side of the door, chopped it all out or just cut a grove for the frame.

all chopped out... so i guess you'd need to remove whole thing ?

more worried about damage to brickwork by removing door frame too...

Don't think you'll damage the stonework as it should unscrew, the holes where the fixings are will need repairing, but that shouldn't be too bad.

The arch bit looks weird, were you thinking of that going as well ??
