I turned on top light on ground floor and it went out. thought the circuit breaker tripped but it hadn't. discovered the top light closest to the circuit breaker works but none of the others on the circuit will come on. (light by front door, bathroom, kitchen, hallway, dining room).

Is it possible for one light fitting to go bad and stop the ones that follow in the circuit from working? similar to the way lights on a christmas tree stop working.

heeelllooo and welcome sdechant :welcome: :welcome: :welcome:

sort off
the power is reaching the first light but not number 2 in the circuit so the fault is likely to be a bad connection or broken wire between light one and light 2 in the circuit
so with the power off check the connections at each light fitting

has there been any work done in the area off the lights or connecting cable or indeed anything unusual happened since the last time the lights worked
