After reading about some of the proposed stuff that the London team were said to be doing as part of the closing ceremony, I was dreading the worst.

Watched (mostly skipped through) the closing ceremony and watched the 2012 'handover' bit and I was surprisingly impressed with the GB bit.
The Chinese ceremony was all very good but went on and on and on with all the usual stuff.
The GB bit was actually fresh and different and shows how the UK - when it gets it act together - has the potential to put on a show to beat the world.

I missed it too (rellies-in-law in my case). Who the hell decided to do it on a bank holiday weekend?!

I find those ceremonies very boring - zipped though most of it.

The bit where the next city i.e. London give a flavour of what to expect in 4 years I was dreading but I thought it was excellent

Fresh and different - instead of the same old dancing and twirling .....Zzzzzzzzzzz

I wonder what happens to the Chinese athletes that "failed their country" by losing when expected to get Gold medals.
