This was also touched upon on Radio 2 this week as some biff was moaning about the road sign warning of elderly people not being a true image of todays elderly - what a load of rubbish its just a sign that everyone knows, maybe we should change it to one of those loons in a pavement cruiser that try and knock everybody down

Did you see the newspaper report about an 84 year old woman being injured then subsequently dying, by a 'hit and run' in one of these.

Happened in Sunderland in May!

Mooncat, you can always have a Colotomy and have a bag fitted :cb

No thanks, a colostomy is OK if you need bowel surgery and the stoma is just while the repair is healing, but not as a permanent procedure. I have secondhand experience of permanent colostomy, and it isn't what I'd be happy with.

I think old age has three main aspects, physical, mental and attitude to life.
We all expect our physical capabilities to be restricted the older we get, and have little control over our mental well being. That leaves a general attitude to life which we have some control over, we can be "grumpy old sods" or "recycled teenagers" with an optimistic attitude.
I prefer the latter, but appreciate that we are all dealt different "cards" throughout life which can alter the approach to life in general.
Sorry if this sounds a bit "heavy" but at least with all of us on the forum, if we can talk like this about age, it shows that we are all the types of people that are in tune with each other & don't mind the "leg pulling"  :thumbright:
