I`m doing a job next week where the customer wants me to use Hicks and Weatherburn paint- `Handmade in Yorkshire` emblazoned on the tins. I just wondered if it was available nationwide and if so anyone had used it? They are on Meanwood Rd in Leeds if you know it, Fitzy- bang opposite the Johnstone`s DC!

Sounds like cat p*ss water sold as beer by Wetherspoons. Never heard of them and only know wetherspoons 'cause they are in airports.

I've only ever once in my entire life not finished a pint of beer and that was a pint of Boddingtons.

I often used to fish with a mate and we'd try and squeeze a pint in on the way home, different pubs, depending on where we were.

On this occasion we got our beer, sat down and swallowed a good slug, looked at each other, looked at our beer, got up and walked out. It wasn't off, it was just absolute crap.

That pub's been pulled down now, and not a minute too soon.

I can just imagine a Claud Greengrass type character in a old out building stirring vats of paint,

Not a drinker but I have been told about the micro pubs and a lot of CAMRA pubs that sell out within the a hour - then become deserted not long after until the brewery support team prop up the bar

Not many times I haven't finished one either.
Worst one was a pub in Redditch, mid 70s. Went in for a pint with a mate, served by the surly looking landlord. The beer was undrinkable. A well known keg of the period, but this was "off". Only me and my mate in the front bar, I took mine back to the bar and said it was off. :pukeleft:
Landlord says "There's nothing wrong with it, they're all drinking it" indicating people in the back room.
Mate was, and still is a very quiet seeming bloke. Rarely swears etc. (He's a plumber and as we know none of them swear much  ) He was sat down, and he said something like "Burger this Dave, this is complete wee" and tipped the rest of his pint, glass nearly full, on the floor. :huray: The landlord looked a little miffed :wtf: :angryfire: , and we made a rapid retreat! :hello2:
