Why? Today I bought a snow shovel. I was at the agricultural merchants, buying fence posts so that I can put a sheep wire fence around the shrubs to keep the dog out. So, no more bits of plywood hurriedly nailed to bits of slate batten. Because I'm prepared, it probably won't snow.

We purchased a 4x4 last year just just before the snow. Foresight! nothing else was usable.

This year we have the grit, shovels, survival tents, Kendal mintcake, you name it... and the weathers glorious lol.

I snapped my faithful old shovel earlier this year, must've been 40 years old. They don't make them like that any more, I bought a new one from a diy shed and it was f*cked within a day.
Doubt I'll bother with a snow shovel though, seems total overkill, grit bin down the end is probably full. Sorted

And my fwd hatchback does better in the snow than any 4x4 i've seen, snow chains and pure skill

After last year think many retail outlets are trying their best to cash in on above items, every merchant or diy depot I enter has snow shovels stacked up and bags of salt, must admit a lot of these plastic snow shovels look like they will break with the first lift of snow!

But I fell for it all and bought a plastic sledge, so I can dive round the granddaughters at the first sight of snow and go sledging down the hills nearby....for about 5 mins till cold and wet and run back indoors

It will snow. It's been oddly warm throughout November but I doubt very much it will stay this way.

Maybe it'll be a white Christmas?!

Saw the weather down the midlands this week - Friday had snow flakes listed, but it's changed again this morning. It's on the way and I reckon it's going to be mental.

If its like this next year, with all the freaky weather I think they are going to have to make another month: Swinter! It's not quite summer and it's not quite winter.

Still no sign of the snow... and I was sat outside at a pub until 1am on boxing day and was only a little cold. Madness.

We had some hail stone a few Fridays back, but only about half an inch. That was enough to make the van struggle in places

I can't believe how mild it is for December, I have worn a T shirt every day!
