£300 to replace a fan and service is extortionate how long did he spend on boiler ?

£300 to turn up, diagnose the problem/s + parts +labour +Vat + service and check all is working as it should ??? not unreasonable.

If he replaced the fan, carried out full service including parts then it's acceptable however I am waiting for op to confirm this if he just installed fan and blowed out dust and issued certificate then £300 is extortionate.
Not trying to say all rgi do this by the way.

Have to say I think that price is about right.

Just looked up a kebab fan and I would charge £238+vat to replace one. Add on a service @ £65 + vat and he has a good deal IMO.

Admittedly I would probably knock £20 off the service as it would be ‘while I was there’ doing the fan if local.
