We have an exercise bike and the nut and bolt have worn down. I cannot get any spare parts so I need to join the nut and bolt via some other method. I've considered soldering but this is a working moving part so I doubt that will work. Any solutions?

Thanks

Alex

Is it just a standard nut and bolt??

A picture is worth a thousand words....can you upload a picture of the broken part, and a picture of where it goes on the bike?

Hi are you saying that the threads on the bolt have worn so you can't get a nut on ?

As already said, you need to post a shot that's in focus so the detail can be seen.
Soldering won't work.

Drill it and put split pin through it, a few washers to stop it going anywhere

or

Pull the bolt out - turn it in a lathe and turn it down, re cut the thread the next size down

or

Drill the end of the bolt, tap the hole out and stick a bolt in the end

it look more like a cross trainer - body sculpture ??

Thanks for the pic mod2
Looking at that I would get a new but the correct size probably a nylon locking one , clean the threads on the shaft wind nut on then using a cobalt drill bit drill through the nut and lock in place using a split pin

http://www.tunturi.com/support/ Have you tried them for spares ?

edit. a quick google search shows it to be a Marcy xc50
