 Post subject: No lintels over windows

Might be good to have a handy tips section, theres been a couple of posts about window heads dropping due to no lintels fitted to carry the outer wall.
We just done this one this morning, same story, Crital Windows removed and plastic ones fitted.
These wont take the weight, as in this case the brick work had dropped quite a bit and slightly bowed the top of window frame.

In the first photo you can see the concrete boot lintel carrying the inner wall, the outer wall would have been built directly over the Crital or wooden frame.

This shows the brick work removed and a single skin 2.1m lintel fitted.

Some of the photos have disappeared, but a single skin lintel was fitted, dpc cavity tray and weep vents.

Not exactly the same thing but here's my mates old house. It was a shop years ago and was converted before he bought it.
Bet he's glad he sold it a few years ago.

Bugger..I can't resize the pic off my fone.
