I have fitted a new kitchen tap but now have no hot water to any tap in the house. I turned the cold off at the main stopcock and the hot by shutting the gate valve in the airing cupboard that feeds cold water into the hot tank. Fitted the new tap and turned everything back on but now get no water from any hot tap. Help please!!

TIA

John

Is the gate valve fully open, and does it just keep turning or stop.

If you have hot and cold to the washing machine, link the hose and see whether you can push it out the bath tap

Only got cold feed to the w/mc. If I put my hand over the outlet to the bath mixer tap and turn on both hot and cold then water comes out of the kitchen tap with hot open. Bathroom is on same floor as kitchen. Don't know if that helps!!

Thanks for the help.

Could try holding the hand over the kitchen tap and see whether you can push it out the bath hot

If you have a wet vac you could try sucking it out from the bath hot tap.

If I put my hand over the kitchen tap with hot open and turn on cold then water comes out of bathroom tap with hot open. Hasn't cured it though. If I do the same but with all other hot taps shut then the cold water is flowing somewhere back into the hot system but was worried about doing this for long.

Got a pond vac, might try sucking from the bath tap.

Could be a plan to see what happens.

Are you sure the valve is open.

Check the storage tank is filling as well

The valve is open as far as I can tell, fully anti clockwise until it stops. If you mean the cold tank in the loft then yes that is filling.
