Post subject: Ford Focus Zetec 1600 Estate Automatic
PostPosted: Tue May 22, 2012 8:25 pm
OK, my husband just bought one of these at the market and on the face of it seems like a bargain. Never had an automatic and Ford wouldn't be his first choice but it is a stop-gap. 51,000 on the clock, tidy as anything, clean engine, 4 good tyres and it was £700 + buyers premium.
Hubby was driving it back today and it suddenly decides to drop out of gear, literally as if you ...

Post subject: Mazda mx5 boot rack compatibility
PostPosted: Tue May 22, 2012 12:10 pm
Hi, I have a Mazda MX5 from 2008, so that it counts as a mark 3 model. On Ebay i've seen a Mazda MX5 Mk 1/2 - MG/MGB/MGTF Classic Car luggage boot rack. If it fits marks one and two, I wonder if it fits mark three. According to the seller, it will fit if the boot of my car has an area at least 98 times 53 cms. Does anyone know whether this is ...

Another one for Ratchet...... :-)

Megane 1.9dci....

Telling me the level was low.... topped up.... no warnings.
Couple of hundred miles later, low oil.... topped up...no warnings.
50 miles later, low oil....

Must have put a good litre in now.

Dipstick itself is next to useless, job to tell accurately
Dubious to put any more in.

No performance ...

 Post subject: Get It Serviced
PostPosted: Wed Apr 25, 2012 6:39 pm
Car was 3000 miles over the service date. I knew it had to be done but was busy doing this, and busy doing that, then snap goes the timing belt and £600 bil.

Just a reminder not to let it linger and linger.

Think how many Stella's i could have got for that!

Post subject: Megane II lock cover
PostPosted: Sun Apr 08, 2012 4:56 pm
Need to get a lock cover, there appears to be two types, with a hole, and without a hole....

Its a keycard with the central locking buttons, not the automatic ones. Has the emergency key thing in the back of the card...

Parts look identical from the pictures, except for the hole obviously.

Does it matter which I have?

Post subject: Peugeot 307 1.6 Diesel or Ford C-Max 1.6 Diesel?
PostPosted: Sun Apr 01, 2012 11:34 am
Hi all,

We are looking at cars and after two weekends of looking we can only find two that fit our criteria and in our price bracket (up to 4k). These two are a Peugeot 307 Estate 1.6 HDi 110 80,000 miles and a Ford C-Max 1.6 TDCi LX 80,000 miles.

The reason that we have chosen these are - Fuel economy, road tax, insurance, flexibility, boot fits pram (most cars out as they do ...

 Post subject: Land Rover 300Tdi
PostPosted: Tue Mar 27, 2012 12:10 pm
Hello all

I have a 1998 Discovery 300Tdi.
This one is a very rare beast indeed, I think it may even be unique.

Everything works!

I have read many things about the conversion to bio fuels, some good some not so good.

Has anyone actually done it to a Tdi engine & how did it go.....or not.

I am thinking about a tank in the boot area, a heat exchanger off the cooling system, a ...
