Post subject: characteristics of replacement wheels
PostPosted: Sat Mar 16, 2019 4:24 pm
I have split rim alloys that seem expensive to refurbish. When searching for replacement wheels what sort of characteristics do I need to bear in mind, other than wheel diameter and stud number (and colour)?

PostPosted: Thu Mar 14, 2019 7:01 pm
Hello all, my grateful thanks to forum users who advise me with this issue. So I was filling up my Ford fiesta 2011 a few days ago and as I removed the pump the fuel cap snapped off with itl. I can still fuel up however I have to find a certain angle for it to do so, unless the pump will not work while the cap is broken. Any advice on what this part ...

Hi,

I recently purchased a Suzuki Swift 1.5 GLX and have been having a few issues with it, luckily I have a snap-on diagnostic tool to hand though so hopefully will be able to provide you guys with a bit more information to help me diagnose my issue...

Whilst driving it home it would cut out randomly.. lights would appear on the dash, however when turning the ignition on and off again it would work. ...

PostPosted: Thu Mar 07, 2019 10:24 pm
Hi everyone. I'm having problems with one of my sidelights. Funny thing is both sidelights work when day lights are active and when side lights are switched on....but when I switch on the headlights, only the drivers sidelight works. Any ideas?

 Post subject: Odd starting problem.
PostPosted: Tue Mar 05, 2019 4:37 pm
My mother is having intermittent trouble starting her car.

Battery is good (though I will try and do a starting voltage test when the weather improves), only a year old.
Engine turns over fine, no struggling, as I said battery is good, sometimes it will start ok but sometimes, especially after she has been out for a drive to shops for instance, it won't have it and will take several tries to get going.

Ideas ...

 Post subject: AdBlue Help
PostPosted: Sun Jan 20, 2019 1:19 pm
Ok, I have a new diesel car and I've never come across Adblue before. In a moment of utter dimwittedness I put windscreen wash in the Adblue tank (I'll be honest, I just saw the blue cap and made a very wrong assumption). Do I just need to get it to a garage to get the tank emptied and flushed?

Post subject: Cigarette lighter socket + phone chargers
PostPosted: Fri Jan 11, 2019 2:53 am
Please could I have some advice about getting an in-car phone charger working. I've been using it in a different car for a while now with no problems. Now I try it in my Honda F-RV and it's not working.

I have two in-car phone chargers, a rubbish one and a better one.
The rubbish one I paid not much more than £1 for on Amazon, so can't expect much from it. The USB connector ...

Post subject: Inspection pit or scissor lift?
PostPosted: Tue Jan 08, 2019 6:42 pm
I’m rebuilding my domestic garage and wondering if to take the opportunity to build an inspection pit, but would be interested to hear the views of other home mechanics.

It would be for hobby use, rather than a business, mostly for routine jobs on a classic car, such as greasing and oil changes - although it would be good to get underneath to scrape and paint the underside!

However, I don’t know if it’s something ...

Post subject: Peugeot 207 Fuel Accumulator
PostPosted: Mon Jan 07, 2019 1:52 pm
I have a 2007 Peugeot 207 1.6 Hdi, and I'm doing a rocker cover gasket on it. I have my trusty Haynes manual which has been brilliant, but it says (https://www.dropbox.com/s/oaqxzt6x3t9pbmk/1546799173673753.jpg?dl=0) to remove the high pressure fuel pipes from the common rail (ie accumulator). Now from what I can tell then is at the back of the engine underneath the air filter housing.

The illustrations just show the removal of the unions at the injector ...
