Post subject: Sealing polished marble floor tiles
PostPosted: Thu Mar 22, 2012 5:35 pm
Hello i was just wondering whether i should consider doing this to a newly laid bathroom floor.Bathroom fitter used some Wickes polished marble tiles we bought and on the packet it suggested using their natural stone sealer, but the fitter did not think it was necessary as they had been polished. He reckoned the sealant would just sit on top.
When i spoke to Wickes they told me the same so I am a bit of ...

PostPosted: Sat Mar 17, 2012 3:32 pm
Hi

Am in the process of doing my bathroom and have decided to re-tile the area around my bath as I didn't like the tiles and they'd been put up very badly.

In taking the tiles off around the window it appears I have some problems and not really sure what to do next.

As you will see from teh pics some metal thing (not sure what it is even for) has rusted completely and ...

 Post subject: tiling window reveals
PostPosted: Fri Mar 16, 2012 1:16 pm
Hi lads. I've got an upcoming job where the window reveals are offset at 45 degrees rather than the usual 90. Anyone come across this before. Just wondering about the trims, obviously the angle of the reveal means the face of the trim will be pushed out too. Anyone got any suggestions?

Post subject: Need to replace this plasterboard?
PostPosted: Fri Mar 09, 2012 3:08 pm
Hi there. I've ripped out an existing self contained plastic shower enclosure/tray and want to install another, but this time with tiled walls. The walls look like this:

Should I replace the plasterboard? If not, what should I be doing to it? I'm a bit twitchy about reusing it because it'll be a wet area.

Hi i am a bit of a quandary because I bought some marble floor tiles I wanted to lay in place of a lino covered piece plywood which I noticed was very wet round the toilet and sink area.At first I thought the whole floor area would be screeded, as it was round the toilet and sink, but as I proceeded to remove the ply discovered half is pine parquet. The question is what should I ...

Post subject: Greenboard versus Aquaboard/ Double layer of floor tiles
PostPosted: Tue Mar 06, 2012 5:46 pm
I have just registered and have a question. We have had two bathrooms completely gutted and re designed, one as a wet room, installed in our holiday home in the UK. The wet room has no window, just an extractor fan and is only half tiled on the walls (fully tiled in wet-room shower area). We were given a quote for the use of Aquaboard. Without prior consent from us Greenboard was used around shower ...

 Post subject: Re-using Tiles
PostPosted: Mon Mar 05, 2012 1:25 pm
Hi
I'm new to this Forum so thanks in advance for any advice offered!
We have to re-tile out ensuite shower cubicle due to a damp plaster board and we want to re-use the existing tiles.
What is the best way to get the tiles off without damaging them, so that we can re-use them?
Thanks!
