Not those on your tape measure, the ones at the end of your legs.

I've got wide feet and have struggled for years to buy shoes that actually fit my feet.

I can remember exactly three times in my life when I've tried on a new shoe and there's been that sublime moment when you realise that they do actually fit and are comfortable.

I don't actually have many shoes, three identical pairs of Keen ...

Post subject: Another day, another scam.
PostPosted: Tue Feb 20, 2018 4:36 pm
Took a phone call this morning; they wanted to speak to the wife about a legal matter. I told them she was in hospital. Can we speak to you about it was the next question. When I said yes, she said I'll get someone to call you. Ding dong, alarm bell 1 - even the bloody doctor won't discuss my wife on the phone with me.

They phoned back about a half hour later, a ...

Got my V11 (road tax renewal) in the post yesterday. They want £240 for a year.

I remembered reading something recently that the fees were going to be standardised with one variable amount paid in the first year and then £140 per year after that, On checking, that only applies to vehicles first registered after April 2017 - but it got me looking around.

£240 is Band *I* for emissions of 176-185 g/km.

I checked ...

 Post subject: Electricity
PostPosted: Fri Oct 13, 2017 10:35 am
WTF is going on with electricity?

We've got .gov forcing all-electric vehicles on us by 2030 (or was it 2040) and this morning I read of a planned elimination of gas cooking/heating in favour of 'alternatives' (obviously electricity) ????

On top of the strident f**kwit environmental claims of globull warming we have even more morons prepared to campaign to prevent fracking, the closure of coal-fired power stations and a (practical) moratorium on building nuclear power ...

Long story short,
Last weekend I took junior back down to Embra to start his second year at uni, heading down the devil's highway that is the A9 I had, more than once, the following situation.
Cruise control is on so I am travelling at a constant speed, muppet driver overtakes then pulls in in front of me & goes slower than I were travelling in the first place ...

Cant stand the knob heads who watch you work, thinking they are like an exam regulator or something! I dont mind a bit of chit chat with a customer sometimes, but why stand there watching us work! If you could do it yourself, BLOODY WELL DO IT YOURSELF!!!!!!!

 Post subject: Late night customers
PostPosted: Mon Jul 03, 2017 5:50 pm
Sunday night 11'00 a customer decides to text me, asking when I'd be available to go back to refit a radiator I removed so he could re-decorate.
Really annoyed me, I do advertise as 24/7 plumbing but emergencies only obviously!
Just wait a few hours, message me in the morning then you might get a more polite response. Grrrr

 Post subject: Another pressure washer
PostPosted: Sat Apr 29, 2017 5:20 pm
What is it with pressure washers? After having two, a Nilfisk and then a Wolf, in 4 years, and having both give up on me after only casual use. I decided I wasn't going to throw good money after bad and I held back for 2 years on getting another one, but now have decided to try again. This time I've ordered a Qualcast after seeing my neighbor busy with one which he had just ...

PostPosted: Mon Apr 24, 2017 1:03 pm
Hi,

After being carted off in an ambulance last July leaving our brand new Yeti on our driveway and it being our 40th wedding anniversary my bad luck still is with me. I had gradually improved up to a couple of weeks ago when I told Bron I was feeling better now than I've felt all my life; no pain anywhere and only light itching in fact I was feeling on top of the world. ...
