Post subject: Estimates and quotes Posted: Wed May 23, 2012 6:43 am |

So who gives estimates or quotes and reasons??
Reason I ask is, I've been working for a 'character' for 3 weeks as they were paying very good money. It's all coming to light as to how they win jobs etc.. Their estimates are quite considerably lower than their invoice given. They always put minimum 3 days extra on their invoice, but the jobs could have been completed well in the the frame. There is an ...

Post subject: Does anybody know about Refunds using PayPal? Posted: Wed May 23, 2012 12:59 am |

Hi I was interested in purchasing items I had seen on an eBay listing. When I contacted the seller we agreed on a price and he sent me a request for money via paypal as a deposit, not through ebay. I paid the deposit. However when I arrived at the sellers home to collect the items as agreed, the items were definitely not as described. I did not collect the items. I requested a refund ...

Post subject: Audi a3 1.6 petrol. The ESP control fault. Posted: Tue May 22, 2012 11:47 pm |

:welcome: Hi I have an Audi A3 1.6 petrol 2006 model. The 'traction control' light is on in the dashboard, it has been for a few months. The 'ESP' switch used to control this but it doesn't seem to switch this light off anymore. Can anyone give me some advice as to why this happening and how to resolve it? It's not a serious fault, is it?

I would like to elicit comments on an idea. I would welcome reasoned discussion of this idea but would prefer that nobody jumps all over me and tells me what a crazy idiot I am - it's just an idea, OK?
I am contemplating fitting a small (10 litre) undersink heater. As this is unvented, it will need some form of pressure vessel to cope ...

Hi all,
I am doing an exterior job at the moment. I was just wondering what you guys use to fill the masonry and what do you sand it back with. Your input would be appreciated.

OK, my husband just bought one of these at the market and on the face of it seems like a bargain. Never had an automatic and Ford wouldn't be his first choice but it is a stop-gap. 51,000 on the clock, tidy as anything, clean engine, 4 good tyres and it was £700 + buyers premium. Hubby was driving it back today and it suddenly decides to drop out of gear, literally as if you ...

For the DIY'ers...
On a scale of 1-10 how would you rate your overall skill set and what other skill would you like to have?
1 being shockingly unskilled and 10 being able to tackle all but the most specialist of jobs.
For me i'd say a 7 and i would like to be able to plaster.
