After the Hitachi blowing up after 5 minutes this is probably the machine I have selected (mostly because I like the look of it)

The Metabo BE622 single speed high torque drill has to be one of the best specialist drills on the market.
I have two of them, which get thoroughly used and very abused on a daily basis. They will easily drill 32mm holes through green oak, with the only limitation being your wrists and holding the drill!
The gearbox is superb, and can be switched in forward reverse direction without the need to stop.
The power ...

Post subject: METABO Angle Grinder W23 -230
PostPosted: Wed Apr 22, 2009 7:59 am
After burning out a couple of cheaper make 9" grinders I bought my Metabo grinder 3 years ago second hand. This was previously used by my mates Dad who was a retiring builder for at least the last ten years.

I replaced the brushes and it's like new. This grinder rocks! More brute power than any other I have used and a feeling of ruggedness and unbreakability. Vrooooooom!

Metabo 4.5 inch angle grinder EW 7115 S Quick

I bought this angle grinder from a seller on ebay, but it was brand new!

The grinder is small and light weight and has a saftey clutch built in, which is strange on a 4.5 inch model grinder. The clutch has kicked in a few times, but I wonder if it is really necessary on a grinder of this size?

The grinder has spindle lock, which ...
