Post subject: Different types of batteries?
PostPosted: Wed Feb 11, 2015 2:56 pm
I recently got given a Hitachi drill/driver, and as i'm looking to start a collection of power tools this looked a good bet. But looking online a lot of the tools for sale appear to be using a different type of battery than what i have. Mine look like this:

Whereas a lot of the tools i see are built for this:

Have i got an old style battery that's being replaced, or ...

PostPosted: Thu Oct 30, 2014 3:35 pm
Currently only available from Screwfix... http://www.screwfix.com/p/hitachi-dv18d ... rill/8652f

Had a decking job, removing old rotten decking and replacing with proper deck boards.

Knowing that my old Ryobi kit was on it's last legs I treated myself to the above (£99.99 at the time of writing)

Comes with 2 x 1.5 Ah Li-ions which charge in 40 mins, charger and carry case. First job was to remove as ...

Got myself the Hitachi DV18DCL2 18V 1.5Ah Li-Ion Cordless Combi Drill from Screwfix three weeks ago for £99.

Not much to say other than it's a very good, strong and light drill. I dont use it for heavy duty stuff. Just fitting grab rails and bannisters etc. Cuts through plaster and brick with reletive ease. Haven't even had to use the hammer action on it yet.

Comes with 2 batteries which take an hour to ...

Post subject: Hitachi nt65gb angled gas finish nailer
PostPosted: Mon Jan 24, 2011 9:44 pm
I have been using this nailer for about a month now and i am really happy with it
its just as good imo as paslode. you can use paslode brads and gas,its lighter than the paslode due to li-ion batterys ,and is very comfy in the hand, a must when nailing all day.
on average the hitachi is about £100 cheaper than the paslode, nails and gas are roughly £20
for 2000 nails and 2 ...

PostPosted: Sun Apr 25, 2010 12:18 pm
Cant remember how many sds drills Ive had over the years but this one is a contender for the best one...
Ive owned one of the old Hilti te5's and had it for donkeys before it got nicked and I reckon I can say this hitachi is better...
its an absolute beast for a 2kg sds... be carefull with it, I reckon I only have to touch the trigger and ive stuck a 7mm hole ...

Post subject: Hitachi DV18DVC/JK Cordless Combi Drill and Torch
PostPosted: Sun Dec 13, 2009 1:49 pm
I have seen this drill in B&Q for £99.99.

Dead link removed by admin

The fact that it comes with 3 batteries is good, but is the drill any good? Will it go through masonry with relative ease, and not break after 6 months? Are Hitachi a well respected brand of tools by tradesmen?

Thanks

 Post subject: Hitachi Belt Sander 230V 76mm (3") SB8V2
PostPosted: Tue Nov 24, 2009 7:27 pm
Bought one of these today, a bit of an impulse buy really because I knew I needed a new belt sander. Went for the 75mm version and now having doubts that I should have stuck out for the 100mm width. Price at BQ was sub £130 so thought it was fairly good money wise. Before I fire it up, anyone got an opinion? Good or bad.

Thanks

Mike

SV12SG Palm sander

200W

Found it a very comfortable sander to use for reasonable periods.
Powerfull, but if you put a lot of pressure on it, the orbital action stops.
It creates an excellent finish when used with fine paper, but can also remove a lot with coarser papers.
The on/off switch could benifit from being rotated so its a little easier to operate with your finger. The paper clips are strong and easy to ...

PostPosted: Sun May 13, 2007 2:37 pm
Wheel Diameter 230mm
Power Input 2,000W
No-Load Speed 6,600/min
Spindle Thread M14x2
Overall Length 466mm
Weight 4.3kg
Standard Accessories Wrench, Side Handle

This is one of the basic models. Priced around £70
Use these a lot. They take some serious stick!

One of the lighter 9" grinders around.
2000w motor really gives it plenty of poke for cutting or grinding. If you really push it will slow, but then the disc become inefficient anyway.

The ...
