Hi I'm replacing flooring in kitchen so all current chipboard coming up and I'm planning on insulating the floor at the same time, house construction is 20 year old timber frame semi, with all kitchen floor up would it be feasable to insulate the remaining ground floor from underneath? And what method of supporting insulation would you say would be the best, plastic netting stapled in place, or screws/nails with a zigzag of nylon twine? ...

Post subject: Proposed shed base very close to 60 foot leylandii Posted: Mon May 07, 2012 6:32 pm |

The existing traditional 8 x 6 wooden shed touches the tree at one corner, it has been there for 58 years and needless to say the concrete base is cracked. The tree must stay and a new 10 x 8 shed erected. It is realised that a concrete slab is not the way to go and one idea is to sink small columns between the tree roots and lay beams and flooring on top of ...

I would like to build a two-floor table/shelf, bolted to a corner at the three angles, with two pieces of 6-8mm glass as the surfaces. Question is - how do I attach the glass to the wood/metal that I will use as the 3 legs (the angle opposite the corner will be in the air)? I've seen these things around But I have no idea what they are, how they work or where to ...

Post subject: 10kg bag plasterboard adhesive for small repairs? Posted: Mon May 07, 2012 1:12 pm |

I have to fill some gaps in dot & dab plasterboard after a partition wall has been removed, so the largest area is only around 10cm × 2.3m. Now it seems like a 10kg bag of adhesive would be a bit wasteful for this, but I'd rather do a proper job and bin the leftover.
Before I do that I may as well ask: is it possible to get smaller quantities of adhesive for situations ...

Due to the consistent great weather, i am thinking of getting one. Probably 3m x 3m should do it. Would like to set it up on the patio with access to the garage. So would think one with removable sides should do, maybe a plastic window option.
Anybody use one and how quick are they to setup/dismantle?
All the ones i see have guy ropes, can i weight it down somehow if i don't have ...
