Post subject: Which is faster, Win7 or Win10

Based on running the OS on identical machines, which would be faster, Win7 or Win10?

The base machine is a dual core E5300, 2.6GHz and 1600MHz bus with 4Gb RAM (a scrap machine with no other purpose so ripe for playing with....)

It currently has an unused Win10 installed but I have a Win7 Pro package I could fit - and I'm happy with Win7 on my other machines but would consider keeping Win10 just ...

Post subject: Windows 10 Update 3/12/17
PostPosted: Mon Dec 04, 2017 9:57 am
My Windows 10 system updated yesterday and it took around 3 hours. The download took around 2 hours and then the restart fell through loads of 'loading update' cycles. When it was done as far as I can see there is some gadget in Paint for 3d and some speech to text enhancements.

I am sure there must be a load of other stuff but be warned that this takes bleedin' ages. If I had ...

Do you use it?

Are you planning to STOP using it?

I ask based on the recent Russia-phobia announcement that Kaspersky software 'may' be monitoring your internet usage - like Google, Facebook, GCHQ and the NSA don't....

Personally I'm getting pretty pizzed off with all this anti-Russia rhetoric and concerned for the aggression and 'intent' that Western Governments seem to be having to incite conflict. ...

 Post subject: Win10 Upgrade problem
PostPosted: Sun Nov 26, 2017 3:55 pm
Asus X556U - downloaded latest Win10 upgrade and the lappy has locked up with the circulating chocolate starfish whizzing away.

Can't do anything with the usual recovery modes (accessible but they don't resolve the issue) and the last thing I can try is a full reload of software, losing everything in the process (yeah... I know, don't mention 'backup' )

Done the 'remove the battery' ...

Post subject: Connecting external speakers to All in One PC
PostPosted: Thu Nov 16, 2017 10:29 am
Been thinking about buying my Dad an All in One Desktop PC to replace his old slow Desktop PC tower.
The one I have been looking at is an Acer C20 - 720 but I would like to know if it is possible to connect the external speakers he currently uses on his tower PC to one of these all in one PC's so he can watch music videos.
I have tried researching online but ...

PostPosted: Thu Nov 02, 2017 2:51 pm
I have a new Pc that my Uncle put together. When I received it, the computer had kerio personal firewall on it. I would like to get rid of it but I do not know how. I have tried to go to the control panel and went to the add and remove section...but when I highlighted the kerio it said that I cannot delete this program. Is there another was to get rid of it???
